Why spend it?

• Bitcoin is money with a fixed supply - 21 million, no exceptions. Holding is saving; spending is voting with real money.
• Lightning makes payments instant and nearly free - a coffee, a taco, a haircut. No card fees for the merchant.
• Every purchase teaches a business that bitcoin customers are real. Spend where bitcoin is accepted and more doors open.

How to spend it

• Get a Lightning wallet: Wallet of Satoshi (easiest), Phoenix, or Muun.
• Buy a little: Strike or Cash App both work from a normal bank account. Or bring cash to the meetup and someone will zap you.
• Find local spots above, or anywhere with btcmap.org.
• At the register: scan the QR, confirm, done. About ten seconds.
• Tax note: the IRS counts spending as selling. Keep records; most wallets export them.

Who shows up?

Developers, miners, stackers, and the bitcoin-curious. No Bitcoin experience needed. Come ask your first question.

What happens?

Show and tell, open discussion, and social hour. Some months a talk, most months just good conversation.

What does it cost?

Nothing. Venue is free, sats accepted for drinks if the taproom takes them.
